This report explored best protocols for supporting resident and team member well-being and provided guidelines for interinstitutional relocations of long-term care homes.

This article, published in the Lancet Health Longevity journal, was co-written by 間眅埶AV Director Andrew Sixsmith and is a systemic review of randomised controlled trails.

AGE-WELL and the Canadian College of Health Leaders teamed up to produce a special themed issue of the journal Healthcare Management Forum. 間眅埶AV STAR Director was a guest editor and 間眅埶AV STAR managed the project. 

AGE-WELL Environics: Older Peoples Use of Digital Technology During the COVID-19 Pandemic
This paper is a result of AGE-WELL's commissioned surveys by Environics in 2019 and 2020 which collected data from 1923 seniors on technology use and how COVID-19 impacted tech use.

UBC-411-STAR Policy Brief: Why Do Some Older Adults Have Less Access to Information and Community Technology? Causes and Policy Recommendations
This policy brief explores why some older adults have challenges accessing ICT and provide three policy recommendations for the Canadian government to consider. 


Over the course of six virtual co-creation camps in 2020, the Intergenerational and Age-Friendly Living Ecosystem project, supported by STAR, co-created research, policy, and practice solutions toward developing an age-friendly ecosystem.

Healthy Universities for Healthy Communities: Bridging the Divide
This project brought together students and staff from Scottish Universities with community organizations to look at how we can work towards improving the health and wellbeing of Scottish people and older adults.

This article reviews the potential for basic lifestyle activities, including physical exercise, meditation and musical experience, to contribute to reserve capacity and thus reduce the incidence of dementia in older adults.


Funding bodies increasingly require researchers to write lay summaries to communicate projects real-world relevance to the public in an accessible way. This project's primary objective was to develop guidelines to co-create lay summaries of research projects with stakeholders.

Human Participants Research Safety Plan
A process for developing and submitting an in-person Human Participants Research (HPR) Safety Plan to conduct certain field-based research activities via 間眅埶AV Office of Research Ethics has been created. Health and safety guidelines will be ensured for field-work activities such as 1:1 interviews in appropriate space or small focus-group with required social distancing in place.

This qualitative study was conducted over a two-year period during the relocation of residents and staff from an institutional LTC home to a purpose-built LTC home in Western Canada.
