Recruit Tomorrow's Talent

¶¡ÏãÔ°AV's Co-operative Education Program (¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Co-op) has been operating for over 40 years and is the first of its kind in Western Canada. We are leaders in online Co-op curriculum development, and are the first university to offer an online community for co-op student stories and educational content. ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Co-op's mandate is not only for providing students with work integrated learning opportunities, but also to our 16,300+ employers across the globe; we prepare our students for the workplace so that our employers are able to recruit tomorrow's talent today.

A Co-op Job Should Be...

SUPERVISED

THE RIGHT TIMING

420 hours minimum over a four month work term period. Students are available year round for 4, 8, or 12 month positions. Work terms begin each January, May, and September.

RELATED TO STUDENT'S ACADEMIC PROGRAM / CAREER GOALS

The nature of the work should be aligned with the student's academic program.

ADHERES TO EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Co-op students are hired as employees of your organization. All employers operating within BC must adhere to the BC Employment Standards Act. ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Co-op reserves the right to deny participation to any employer contravening this Act. Students complaints will be directed to the BC Ministry of Labour for resolution. Employers located outside BC must adhere to their regional and federal employment laws.

PAID

Co-op work terms must be paid at a rate comparable to industry norms. Students are encouraged to consider the educational benefit of a position rather than salary; however, salary is a factor in students' work term considerations.

If you are unsure whether or not your job qualifies after reading the above criteria, please contact us to discuss further.

If your job falls outside of the Co-op parameters, consider sending your job description to:
