Tell us a little about yourself, including what inspires you to learn and continue in your chosen field
Delving into the mysteries of life is a constant source of inspiration for me. The quest to unravel the secrets of life motivates my curiosity and fuels a deep-seated desire to understand the intricate workings of biological phenomena. What particularly drives me is the ambition to harness the tools of physics to provide explanations for aspects of life that remain unexplored by traditional biological approaches.
Why did you choose to come to ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?
The Biophysics group within ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV's Physics Department has consistently played an active and integral role in advancing the field of biophysics. Observing the impactful contributions undertaken by the brilliant minds within this group has been a compelling force propelling my decision to further pursue my education at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV. I am inspired by the innovative endeavors and collaborative spirit within the Biophysics group, and it is this vibrant academic environment that motivates me to engage in meaningful research and learning experiences as part of the ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV community.
How would you describe your research or your program to a family member?
My academic program represents a focused effort to gain a deeper understanding of the fundamental principles of physics. Incorporating concepts from non-equilibrium statistical physics, my research goal is to investigate the physical aspects of biological systems, particularly molecular machines. This research endeavours to contribute to the broader understanding of the intricate relationship between physics and biology, shedding light on the physical dynamics within these systems.
What three (3) keywords would you use to describe your research?
Thermodynamics, Non-equilibrium Statistical Mechanics, Molecular Machines
How have your courses, RA-ships, TA-ships, or non-academic school experiences contributed to your academic and/or professional development?
As a Master's student, my academic journey has primarily been shaped by coursework and research assistantships (RA-ships). Engaging in RA-ships has been instrumental in honing my research abilities, allowing me to actively contribute to ongoing projects and gain valuable insights into the research process. Additionally, non-academic experiences have played a role in fostering adaptability and teamwork, contributing to my overall personal and professional growth.
