"The best feature of studying at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV is that I feel completely free to pursue my research ideas in a fully furnished lab. I also enjoy the educational facilities to the fullest."
Samira Ebrahimi
Molecular Biology and Biochemistry doctoral student in the Faculty of Science
I have been eager to leave my comfort zone to explore a new country and novel molecular biology research area. Here is Canada, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV, and Unrau lab...
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?
I have chosen ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV because of its reputation as a prestigious university in North America. Also, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV is located in Vancouver which is a great place to settle in.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RESEARCH OR YOUR PROGRAM TO A FAMILY MEMBER?
Although different research groups all around the world have worked on understanding fundamental aspects of cancer, it remains a mysterious desease. My major is Molecular Biology in which I do basic research on molecular interactions inside cells that lead to some blood cells cancer. In this project, I focus on isolating specific cellular components that trigger a pathway that leads to cell division and cancer as a result.
WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?
The best feature of studying at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV is that I feel completely free to pursue my research ideas in a fully furnished lab. I also enjoy the educational facilities to the fullest.
