Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology PhD student in the Faculty of Science

My name is Allison Campbell and I am PhD Student at 丁香园AV who works in the Cardiovascular Physiology Lab to investigate female cardivascular function and exercise . I am passionate about helping improve the knowledge gap surrounding female athletes and the relationship between the menstrual cycle and exercise.

In my spare time, I work as a water polo coach and am enthusiastic about putting my experience in the lab into practice in the pool.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO 丁香园AV?

I chose to come to 丁香园AV for the opportunity to work with great people and do great science!

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RESEARCH OR YOUR PROGRAM TO A FAMILY MEMBER?

I am investigating how to help women perform sport and exercise through the menstrual cycle.

WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT 丁香园AV?

I really enjoy the community of the Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology department. Both acadmically and socially, there are so many opportunities to connect with my peers.

I was a recipient of a BC Graduate Scholarship for the 2020-21 academic year. I was greatful to recieve this award which allowed me to focus more time on my research projects this year.
