I am a Physics graduate student, solving and exploring new problems and ideas mostly in the field of physics usually get me involved. Sometime long back in my high school years, I opted for studying physics and mathematics, which I find to be most exciting and it makes me happy exploring the subjects. I have never been able to trace back the time when the aspiration began. I am still enjoying being in Academia and hoping to continue as long as I find something to excite me, and there is plenty to do so.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?
I believe the Graduate Program in ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV will equip me with the power to materialize exciting scientific opportunities by providing me with exposure to superlative research practices, a multicultural work atmosphere and above all a setting that helps to stimulate the development of new ideas. Apart from its world reputed faculty members in ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV’s physics department, being in Canada and specially cultural and liberal inclusive environment of Vancouver city has played a major role too.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR RESEARCH AND/OR PROGRAM.
My current work explores the physical properties most abundant protein, collagen, in our human body. This properties regulate different biological functions understanding them is expected to hep us develop better understanding of different disease and possibility of cure.
WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?
Currently this has been a very different scenario due to the omnipresent threat of Covid-19, so we have very different setup than usual and a very new experience. Although I was still able to enjoy exploring new topics and discussions staying far away with around 12 hours time difference, this wouldn't have been possible if not for wonderful lab members and specially Prof. Forde, I am always thankful them.
HAVE YOU BEEN THE RECIPIENT OF ANY MAJOR OR DONOR FUNDED AWARDS?
After Higher Secondary level, I was awarded with a highly prestigious INSPIRE Scholarship, which is awarded to the top 1% students in the entire nation by Govt. of India. It has always been a wonderful support for me over my undergraduate years.
