A long way from his home, but feeling right on track here at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV, is engineer Milad Hafezi. To help people with a visual impairment, Milad once invented tunable eyeglasses. It was during this creation that he discovered a passion for one of the most complex yet beautiful systems in our universe â€” the human brain.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?

Located in one the most beautiful cities in the world, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV has amazing faculty members and is the right place for me to pursue a successful future. Hand in hand with students, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV is growing and passing one milestone after another.

All of the reasons mentioned above, plus being able to make connections with fabulous people around the campus, is definitely a huge factor to choose ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV over many others.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR RESEARCH.

I am pursuing the study of neuroplasticity and biomechanical engineering in the department of Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology. Specifically, I am developing a system to detect and analyze data in real time during brain mapping experiments which will help us understand the role of individual differences in the brain and how they affect the outcomes of neurological injuries.

WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?

I never knew until I experienced it in person! ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV has the best faculty, staff, and students you can find. The campus is full of energy and there are many interesting people to meet.

Being at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV is part of my long journey to success and believe it or not, most of the fun is in the journey.
