Resource and Environmental Management doctoral student in the

Before coming to ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV, I worked as a research analyst with the Duke University Energy Initiative, a university-wide, interdisciplinary collaboration focused on advancing an accessible, affordable, reliable, and clean energy system. I had the privilege of working alongside amazing colleagues on research projects addressing coal communities, rural electrification, and other energy topics. The experience also confirmed that I want to continue working with students and researching and writing about the energy transition.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?

I chose ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV in order to work with Dr. Andréanne Doyon and because REM's interdisciplinary approach toward environmental issues is a perfect match for my research interests.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RESEARCH OR YOUR PROGRAM TO A FAMILY MEMBER?

I am interested in the role that fossil fuels play in entwining energy, environment, and community; the social and economic impacts of energy transitions; and the policies required to ensure a ‘just transition,’ especially within Indigenous communities.

WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?

All of it. I'm a member of a wonderful lab, and I have also loved getting to TA alongside Dr. Andrés Cisneros-Montemayor.
