Communication doctoral student in the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology

I am a first-year Ph.D. student in Communication. I moved to Vancouver from Shaoxing, China, an ancient city over 2500 years. My interests span a range of sectors, from literature, film studies, to communication studies. And I am an atypical Aries who loves dedicating myself to research and paying forward for comrades in scholarly arms.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO 間眅埶AV?

間眅埶AV is an important school for the kind of integrated political economy of communication, cultural studies, and technology and society research I intended to pursue. I can experience its critical scholarship on urgent social problems and the distinct inclusiveness of a multicultural academic community.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RESEARCH OR YOUR PROGRAM TO A FAMILY MEMBER?

Broadly, My current research concerns Political Economy of Communication, and Cultural and Media Studies. Including urban-rural relations in Chinese and global contexts, the socio-structural mediatization of Small-Town Youth in China, and the natural continuation of rural culture in the digital age.

WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT 間眅埶AV?

The free and open educational atmosphere in 間眅埶AV campus will not only meet my academic pursuit, but also bring me with comprehensive knowledge that could assist me in accomplishing my current projects as well as doing more research on this domain.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PROGRAM/POSTDOC POSITION TO SOMEONE STILL SEARCHING FOR A PROGRAM OR POSTDOC POSITION?

My program is doing the foremost it can to make sure that every student will build up their critical abilities further and become an up-and-coming scholar with a cosmopolitan outlook through an engaging and research-intensive journey.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO SHARE?
