I am a current PhD student at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV. I come from small town Newfoundland and in my free time I enjoy walking the beautiful trails of Port Coquitlam, lifting weights with my husband, and reading
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?
I chose to come to ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV because of my supervisors research, Dr. Deborah Connolly and Dr. Heather Price. When I got my acceptance letter from ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV I knew it immediately - I HAD to go. It was the best fit for my research interests. Going from coast (NL) to coast (BC) was scary but I knew it would be the best choice for me.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR RESEARCH AND/OR PROGRAM.
My research is focused on interview techniques to enhance eyewitness memory. Also, I research the intersection of children in the justice system.
WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?
I love traveling for research and to conferences. Mostly, I love the close connections I've made with other researchers at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV.
HAVE YOU BEEN THE RECIPIENT OF ANY MAJOR OR DONOR FUNDED AWARDS?
I was also awarded the Honour of Nelson Mandela award in relation to my CGS doctoral award. This was awarded to the 10 highest ranked SSHRC applicants whose research aligns with select topics.
