"I enjoy exploring individuals' behavior interaction in both computational and experimental environments."
Hung Truong
Economics PhD in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
Born and raised in Sai Gon, Vietnam, I am a second-year Ph.D. student in economics at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV. After completing my Bachelor's degree in Economics at Singapore (SIM) and California (UCSD), I joined ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV in 2018 to pursue graduate training in Economics.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?
I choose ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Economics because of the world-class faculty and the rigorousness of the program, making it one of the world's top graduate econ schools.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR RESEARCH AND/OR PROGRAM.
I enjoy exploring individuals' behavior interaction in both computational and experimental environments. I like to incorporate realistic human behaviors into economic modeling, as I believe economic activities are not entirely created by rational decision-makers but there is an interference of cognitive dissonance. My research applications include the central bank's monetary policy.
WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?
The learning and researching environment at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV (especially the Burnaby mountain campus) is lovely, diverse and vibrant.
HAVE YOU BEEN THE RECIPIENT OF ANY MAJOR OR DONOR FUNDED AWARDS?
- Special Graduate Entrance Scholarship
- Lang Wong Memorial Endowment Scholarship
- Richard G. Lipsey Award
