"As a sustainable engineer and materials researcher, I would like to deploy my research expertise and knowledge on creating high-performance solar cells for generating electricity for indoor electrical and electronic devices."
Javith Mohammed
Sustainable Energy Engineering master's student in the
I was born and brought up in Trichy, a city in Southern India. I completed my schooling from primary level through high school in a rural district in Tamil Nadu, India. I graduated with a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical and Electrochemical Engineering at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (Govt of India) in the summer of 2022. My primary responsibility includes developing novel technologies by incorporating materials science into electrochemistry.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?
A graduate education that would allow me to pursue a master's degree in the field of my dreams. I also believe that a good graduate program is a prominent step toward fulfilling my long-term goals. I hope to fulfill my ambition at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV, Canada’s most engaged and comprehensive university, which I consider to be one of the best universities to pursue graduate studies. The state of art research facilities and highly erudite faculty intrigued me. My interest is mainly in Sustainable Energy Engineering as I have always had a personal liking towards the related subjects in my undergraduate research projects. I would like to develop novel prototypes that focus mainly on energy conversion and storage devices for a sustainable and advanced future.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RESEARCH OR YOUR PROGRAM TO A FAMILY MEMBER?
As a sustainable engineer and materials researcher, I would like to deploy my research expertise and knowledge on creating high-performance solar cells for generating electricity for indoor electrical and electronic devices. At the end of the day, with my research products, I could able to power up dark space with low-cost technology.
WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?
I really enjoying my research work and academics at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Surrey. Many thanks to my supervisor, fellow faculties, and the well-sophisticated building of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV: Sustainable Energy Engineering building.
HAVE YOU BEEN THE RECIPIENT OF ANY MAJOR OR DONOR-FUNDED AWARDS? IF SO, PLEASE TELL US WHICH ONES AND A LITTLE ABOUT HOW THE AWARDS HAVE IMPACTED YOUR STUDIES AND/OR RESEARCH.
I have received Special Graduate Entrance Scholarship (SGES) award from the School of Sustainable Energy Engineering, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV. I really appreciate the school for providing me with this fund that could tremendously motivate me for completing my research and academics fruitfully.
