I was born and raised on the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia, Canada and moved to Vancouver in 2012 to study physics at the University of British Columbia. Now, I'm working towards my PhD in the Sustainable Energy Engineering program.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?

I was excited to hear about the Sustainable Energy Engineering program at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV because it fits my interests perfectly. I'm passionate about environmental and social sustainability and equity, and my program allows me to work on complex problems that account for the intersection of these issues.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR RESEARCH AND/OR PROGRAM.

In my research team, ΔE+, we work on building modelling tools to help policy makers effectively and efficiently address climate and other system impacts and trade-offs. My research focuses on integrated modelling tools that look at the intersection of energy with other resource systems to examine the impact of energy policy on the climate, land, and water. I've also done work looking at the infrastructure requirements for fleet electrification in British Columbia.

WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?

I love that the work we do can be so impactful, and I’m excited to contribute to climate change solutions. I'm also very lucky to work with the ΔE+ team, all of whom are supportive and passionate about the work we do.

HAVE YOU BEEN THE RECIPIENT OF ANY MAJOR OR DONOR FUNDED AWARDS?

I was lucky enough to be a Living Lab-PICS Scholar in my second year as a masters student. I've also been awarded the TELUS Graduate Award in Sustainable Energy and the Waterhouse Graduate Fellowship in Organizational Change and Innovation.
