I was born and raised on the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia, Canada and moved to Vancouver in 2012 to study physics at the University of British Columbia. Now, I'm working towards my master’s at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV in the Sustainable Energy Engineering program.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?

I was excited to hear about the Sustainable Energy Engineering program at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV because it fits my interests perfectly. I'm passionate about environmental and social sustainability and equity, and my program allows me to work on complex problems that account for the intersection of these issues.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR RESEARCH AND/OR PROGRAM.

In my research team, ΔE+, we work on building modelling tools to help policy makers effectively and efficiently address climate and other system impacts and trade-offs.

WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV?

I love that the work we do can be so impactful, and I’m excited to contribute to climate change solutions. I'm also very lucky to work with the ΔE+ team, all of whom are supportive and passionate about the work we do.

HAVE YOU BEEN THE RECIPIENT OF ANY MAJOR OR DONOR FUNDED AWARDS?

In January 2021 I will be starting a research position as a Living Lab Scholar, where I will get to help work towards the goals outlined in the ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV 2025 Sustainability Plan. This work is an opportunity to apply the skills I'm learning to the ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV community and make our university more sustainable.
