Lucy Bell's nomination for the BC Museums Association's Distinguished Service Award
Sdahl K_'awaas, Lucy Bell , PhD Candidate is a Haida museologist rocking the museum field. She recently was awarded the ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Sterling Prize for Controversy for calling out the Royal BC Museum for racism. With almost 30 years in the museum field, she has repatriated over 500 ancestral remains from global museums and has called on museums to strive for reconciliation and be pro-active repatriators.
Lucy is pursuing her PhD, focusing on Indigenous museology, specifically on Haida museum practice.
