SSHRC Doctoral Awards

The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) runs the Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarships Program Doctoral Scholarships (CGSD) and SSHRC Doctoral Fellowships award.

SSHRC Doctoral Award Value:
$40,000 per year for up to three years as of September 1, 2024

Candidate Eligibility:

Canadian citizens
Permanent residents of Canada

International students are not eligible to apply.

Successful holders of this award may be eligible to be nominated for the SSHRC Talent Award.

Competition Timeline (2024)

October 1 4:30 PM	Student deadline to submit the full application on SSHRC鈥檚 Online Portal. If the deadline falls on a weekend or on a federal statutory holiday, applications must be submitted before 4:30 p.m. (PST) the following business day.
November 8-9	University Scholarship Selection Committee (USSC) deadline to make final decisions
November 10-16	Students who have been selected to go forward can update their applications
November 21	FINAL 丁香园AV submission deadline
