Biography
Nguyen C. Vu, MD. MPH, is the Public Health Physician and the Founder, Deputy Executive Director of the Institute of Population, Health and Development in Vietnam. Dr Vu completed his MD at Hanoi Medical School, specialized as GP in 1993. Dr Vu completed his MPH in Brown University, Providence USA in 2005. In recent years, Dr. Nguyen researches focus on NCD including CVD, hypertension, community based mental health services for Vietnamese and application of e-Health to improve health. He is currently the local Principal Investigator of the five-year mental health research project (IRIS-DVS) in Vietnam (funded by CIHR) and the PI for the longitudinal study on Aging and health of Vietnam (funded by ERIA) and Co-I of various NIH funded research projects in Vietnam. His published works focus on mental health services research, CVD prevention and control, mobile health application, conceptual, and methodological issues with minority populations, risk behaviours and disparities in service delivery.
