Biography
Peter received his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of British Columbia in 2002. After completion of his degree, Peter joined BC Cancer Agency as a Postdoctoral Fellow where his research interests were focused on the proteomics profiling in early prostate carcinogenesis.
Since 2006, Peter has been employed as a Research Associate at the BC Centre for Excellence (BCCfE) in HIV/AIDS at the Providence Health Care in Vancouver. Peter possesses expertise in molecular biology, cell biology and virology, and his current research focuses on HIV-1 antiretroviral drug resistance and novel antiviral drug discovery and development. Since 2017 he has additionally served as the biosafety officer for the BCCfE laboratories, located in downtown Vancouver. In November 2019, Peter was appointed as an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV.
