Mixed-Race Community Group: Exploring Self, Ancestries, and Lands
Liminal Crossings is a 3-month online program for mixed-race people in BC, aimed at exploring personal identity and social justice issues. The program is designed to increase understanding of systemic oppression and positionality, with a focus on exploring ancestry and connections to place/land.

MEMORIALIZING THE FIRST FILIPINO IN CANADA: A DOCUMENTARY
This project aims to document and raise awareness of the history of Filipinos in Canada by creating a short documentary film and memorializing the first recorded Filipino settler, Benson Flores, with a tombstone at his burial place in Vancouver Cemetery. The project will involve interviewing key individuals involved in the discovery of Flores' settlement and documenting the search leading up to it.

KNOWLEDGE TRANSLATION: RE-IMAGINING HEALTHCARE IN THE DOWNTOWN EASTSIDE
The mental health system needs to include the perspectives of those with lived experience of mental health and substance use to avoid discriminatory treatment, burnout for care providers, and worse health outcomes. The Knowledge Translation team conducted a research study and is now sharing findings with the community to support accountability and prioritize lived experience perspectives when designing systems.

DOCUMENSTORY - ASHCROFT YOUTH MEDIA CLUB
This project empowers Ashcroft's youth to become Youth Broadcasters and journalists, documenting their experiences using multiple media to highlight issues pertinent to youth. The goal is to give local youth a voice and choice in sharing their stories and impacting their communities.
Crafting Circles
Finding Present is a team that uses art for social good, encouraging social engagement and exploring socioeconomic dilemmas facing communities. Their project, Crafting Circles, offers free, semi-guided art sessions for youth in Langley, providing a safe and relaxing space for creative expression and addressing issues such as the environment, social justice, and mental health, with a goal of reducing financial and social barriers and building meaningful relationships and connections to the community.

Let’s Do Breakfast
Let's Do Breakfast aims to combat food insecurity in schools by providing healthy breakfasts to children and educating them on the importance of nutrition for education. They plan to distribute informative pamphlets and use a rewards program based on stamps, with their mascot Bertie the Banana, to engage students in the program.

HAPPY, CONNECTED, RESILIENT NEIGHBOURS
Rita Lee, instructor from Roots of Empathy recognized the value of a neighborhood support system during COVID-19 and created an intergenerational learning series with local resources, community partners, and volunteers. The series offers bi-weekly workshops on topics like stress-free living, financial literacy, and building community to enhance mental, emotional, and financial well-being while promoting connectedness in the community.

Peer Connect: Accessibility Meet up/ Games Night
The stigma of judgment for presenting outside perceived societal norms has historically caused Chronic pain patients to remain isolated. To combat this, Peer Connect plans to coordinate 3-4 one-hour peer connect events via zoom or discord, which will lead up to an in-person Game Night to solidify relationships and enable members of the Chronic Pain community to go out and show up in person for each other.

THE PROCESS OF POLITICAL ACTIVISM
The Process of Political Activism aims to address the rise of Islamophobia in the absence of a local network of legal professionals to advocate for the Muslim community. Through a 2-day workshop, the project seeks to engage Muslim community stakeholders, legal professionals, public safety officials, and policymakers to share insight on courses of action for combating Islamophobia and inspire the creation of legislation to address this issue.

Trans Connect-ing Youth in Sport
This project aims to address the lack of policies protecting non-binary people in sport across Canada. With the help of Trans Connect, they will host sessions for youth to discuss barriers to participation and safety, and create resources to help schools and sport organizations incorporate best practices to make their recreation and athletics departments safer for all.

Empowering Muslim Youth
The Muslim community faces challenges, particularly female youth, due to discrimination, identity, and confidence issues. To help mitigate these issues, Empowering Muslim Youth will host two personal/professional development workshops for female youth focused on public speaking and leadership training, aimed at providing support and empowerment to the attendees.

Ocean Care through Data Embodying and Behaviour Changes
This project is a collaboration between Ocean Wise and citizen volunteers who participate in the Shoreline Cleanup activity, which collects garbage from shorelines to monitor and control ocean pollution. The project aims to develop novel ways of encountering and learning about data around marine debris and to increase awareness of community members about ecological issues.

The Reclamation of Women's Bundles
This is a workshop series designed to help women heal from living under patriarchy and facing internal misogyny from other women. The workshops aim to address internalized misogyny, rebuild kinship and matriarchal leadership between women, and create clear pathways for a rematriation of ourselves, our families, our workplace, and our communities.
