On August 26th, delegates of the 2023 Global Environment Facility (GEF) were invited to join us at our vibrant campus atop Burnaby Mountain for two exciting and immersive labs: the Sustainable Mobility Innovation Lab and the Food System Climate Action Lab.
LAB #1: SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY INNOVATION
This lab showcased ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV’s enduring dedication to creating sustainable cities and communities through 4 themes:
- Micro-Mobility: Experiencing ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV’s Last-Mile Innovations
- ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV’s Journey to 1200 EV Chargers by 2030: Pioneering Workplace Charging Transition
- Public Transportation for a Sustainable Future: ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV’s Collaborative Approach
- Universities as the Future Gas Stations: Institutional Assets for Clean Mobility
LAB #2: FOOD SYSTEM ACTION LAB
This lab will explored innovative, action-ready, and scalable solutions within the food system sector. The lab was divided into 3 destinct themes:
- Culinary Journey: Tour 14 distinct stations, featuring selections that focus on plant-forward,sustainable, and locally sourced options
- A Deep Dive into : Exploring technological and social innovations, Extended Reality (XR), Virtual Reality (VR), Artificial Intelligence (AI),hydroponic systems, and enzyme technology
- Innovator Engagement: meet with entrepreneurs and experts from British Columbia’s: agricultural, agri-food, seafood, and food and beverage processing sectors
