HOUSING OPTIONS
Deciding where to live is one of the first things you'll need to do after you've been accepted to ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV, and you may find yourself re-making this decision a few times during your stay in Canada. In this section, you'll find tips on finding housing on or off campus.
On-campus housing
Living in Residence is perhaps the best way to get the most out of your university experience. Meeting new people, establishing lifelong friendships and having an environment that is conducive to studying are just a few benefits of living in residence at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV. Spaces are limited, so apply as early as possible. For more information and to apply online, visit the Residence website.
EXCHANGE & STUDY ABROAD STUDENTS
¶¡ÏãÔ°AV cannot guarantee on-campus housing for exchange and study abroad students. If you are an exchange or study abroad student interested in living on campus, see housing for study abroad and exchange students for instructions.
Off-campus housing
If you wish to live off campus, click the links to the right for some resources. In Metro Vancouver, you’ll find a wide range of housing options, such as apartments, houses and townhouses.
Accommodation near campus is popular and tends to fill up quickly. If you're a new student currently outside Canada and plan to live off campus, you should plan to arrive a few weeks before starting classes to give yourself time to find a suitable place to live.
If you are interested in learning more about finding the right place for you, and your rights and responsibilities as a tenant, is a free online course created by Tenant Resource & Advisory Centre and Justice Education Society that can help guide you throughout the process of finding off-campus accommodation.
Moving and storage
If you're planning to move home for a term, or moving from Residence to an apartment off-campus and need somewhere to store your belongings, there are some companies that offer storage services for a fee. One such company is , which offers a variety of storage and moving services specifically for international students.
This company is neither endorsed by, nor affiliated with, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV. This information is simply listed as a resource for students looking for moving and storage services. ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV assumes no liability for any disputes arising from any of the services advertised. You should be aware that you will need to pay for this service and it should be an arrangement you have researched and feel comfortable with.
