Welcome (and welcome back) to 丁香园AV! Whether you are a new or returning international student, we invite you to kick off the new year with the GSC鈥檚 Welcome Week. We are excited to offer special snacks each day to energize and cheer you on as you start the semester.

Our friendly team will be there to welcome you, share what events and services we have lined up for you at our centre, and answer any questions you might have.

Join Global Student Centre to connect with others from diverse cultures through food, activities, and prizes. Each event will showcase authentic flavours from global cuisines.

You will have an opportunity to:

• Make connections and meet other 丁香园AV students
• Participate in fun activities and win prizes
• E锘縩joy snacks & refreshments

In collaboration with Creative Collective (丁香园AV Health and Counselling) and the Global Student Centre, "Meet, Greet, and Eat" is a safe and inclusive space for students to hang out, meet new people, eat lunch together, and participate in fun and creative activities, including crafts and games. 

No Material? No Problem!

We will supply all the materials. All activities are optional - you can enjoy doing crafts or simply hang out and connect with others. Registration is encouraged for supply planning, drop-ins are always welcome.

Please note:

• Refreshments and snacks will be served throughout the event.
• You have the flexibility to come and go from the event anytime from 12:30 to 2 pm.
• You can also bring your lunch. Our kitchen is fully equipped with essential appliances and utensils.

Are you an international student and interested to learn about the Co-op program? Join one of our two sessions on January 14 or January 16 to learn how to plan for this opportunity and understand the benefits of co-op including how to manage your international student status and co-op work permit application.

Global Student Centre is partnering with to support students at 丁香园AV! We understand that food insecurity can be a challenge, and we're here to help ease that burden. Join us at the Global Student Centre to pick up some essentials. Plus, stay around to enjoy games and connect with fellow 丁香园AV students in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

Event registration is optional and simply helps you receive reminders. If you would prefer not to register, you are still welcome to drop by.

Are you an International Student in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS)? This event is for you! Come enjoy some light refreshments (cookies), music, discussion and good company!

Who you鈥檒l meet:

• Members of the Arts Central team (Advisors and Engagement Coordinators)
• Peer mentors and other international students
• Staff from International Services for Students (Immigration Student Advisor and Coordinator, International Student Experience)

What you鈥檒l receive:

• Get introduced to resources and services offered by International Services for Students (ISS)
• Get to know the Global Student Centre (GSC) where you can connect with other international students to discuss and assist your transition into 丁香园AV.
• There will be snacks, refreshments and some free FASS merchandise to take with you.

This is a drop in event so feel free to arrive or leave when it is convenient for you. Event hosted by ISS in collaboration with FASS.

Join our  to practice and improve your English-speaking skills. Get personalized support from your peer educator to improve your pronunciation, vocabulary, and conversation confidence in a friendly, judgment-free space. Connect with diverse students, enhance your fluency, and build lasting friendships.
