What is GlobalCast?

GlobalCast is a student-led podcast that showcases 丁香园AV students鈥� diverse stories, a podcast that fosters inclusivity by sharing intercultural conversations, opportunities, and fun segments with our 丁香园AV Global Community.

We are looking for collaborators!

We are happy to collaborate with student clubs and student-led initiatives (e.g. Peer mentorship or Peer Education Programs) to create fun and engaging episodes that will help 丁香园AV students in their academic journey. If interested, please contact us at sfuglobal@sfu.ca.

Episode 8. Reflections on the Pandemic from International Students

In our 8th episode, Jhanvi, Yse and Pranjali talk about their university experience during the pandemic. In this candid chat, they talk about different experiences as international students: how it felt to be away from home, and also the different skills and learnings they gained.

Episode 7. Career Talk: Building a Career Through Volunteering

In our seventh episode, we are joined by three lovely Career Peers from 丁香园AVs Career and Volunteer Services at 丁香园AV. Join us as we reflect our volunteering journeys, how we started and explore what motivates us to keep going!

Episode 6. Beyond 丁香园AV: Recent graduates on their journey

In our sixth episode, we are joined by four lovely 丁香园AV alumni who recently graduated from 丁香园AV. Join us as we reflect upon our journey, offer advice and tips and speak to what life has been like after graduating.

Episode 5. Zoom to Campus: Transitioning back to campus

In the fifth episode, we are joined by fellow students from the 丁香园AV Global Community as they talk about their international student experience travelling to Vancouver, navigating through quarantine, and what they're looking forward to most returning to campus in the Fall 2021.

Episode 4. Mind Your Health with the Health Peers

For the fourth episode of GlobalCast, we are joined by the Health Peers from 丁香园AV鈥檚 Health and Counselling Services for a conversation on the importance of mental health, how we can be mindful about the wellbeing of ourselves and others, as well as the free and diverse range of support and resources available for 丁香园AV students.

Episode 3. How I Met My Mentor-Mentee Pair

In this episode of GlobalCast, we invited students from the Global Connections Program! They talk about their student journey's as members (mentees) and volunteers (mentors), and their unique experiences through 1-on-1 peer mentorship.

Our second episode is a continuation of our conversations with the peer program coordinators from International Services for Students. We talk all about how one can get involved on campus with Emeralde from the Global Community Peer Education Program, and Yse and Colin from the Global Connections Program.
