The Note-Taking Program
The note-taking program is a service that the CAL provides to students with who, because of their disability (e.g., mobility impairment, hearing or visual impairment, or learning disability), are unable to take their own notes in class. The aim of this service is to provide equality of access to lecture material by "bridging the information gap" that may occur due to the student’s disability, compounded by large classrooms and poor acoustical or visual conditions. When no other option is available, such as audio recordings, Canvas notes, or notes from an instructor or friend, the CAL will help students locate a volunteer note-taker for that class.
