Where should I park?

Is there public transportation available?
- Yes. Both ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Burnaby and Downtown campuses are accessible via public transit. Refer to the 'Visitor's Guide' tab for interactive transit maps, and trip planning resources
- Uber/Lyft & Taxi Instructions can also be found in the 'Visitor's Guide' tab
Will there be Wi-Fi available?
- Yes. Guests are welcome to access Wi-Fi while on-campus via ¶¡ÏãÔ°AVNET-Guest. Instructions on how to access is available .
Is food provided? If so, are there accommodations for dietary restrictions?
- The registration includes lunch for all three days of the conference. The opening and closing receptions will include light refreshments. If you have any dietary restriction, please include this upon registration, or email us at scl_2025@sfu.ca.

REGISTRATION
How do I register for the event? (linked)

- Note: In order to be eligible for the student fee, registrants will be required to upload either a copy of 1) Proof of Enrollment, or 2) Letter of Support signed by a supervisor at their home institution

My home institution is not an APRU Member. Can I still participate?
- Yes. While the conference primarily targets researchers and students from , we welcome participation from researchers and practitioners from broader communities, both within and beyond the Pacific Rim.
INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL & DOCUMENTS
Is there a Government of Canada (SELU) - 'unique special event code' assigned to the conference?
- There is no 'unique special event code' assigned to the APRU SCL 2025 Conference.
What do I need to prepare to travel to Canada?
- Please refer to and follow information on the Government of Canada website, "". For any specific inquiries, please contact your local Canadian Embassy or Consular Services for assistance.
I need a Letter of Invitation for my immigration application.
- Send an email to scl_2025@sfu.ca to request the letter, and provide the required information below:
- Full Name: First, Middle (if applicable) and Last Names as it appears on your travel documents
- Date of Birth: As it appears on your travel documents (e.g., passport)
- Home Institution: Name of the institution or organization you are representing
- Position Title: Your current job title (if student, please state 'student')
- Work (or home institution) Address & Phone number
- Home Address & Phone Number: Your residential address as per your travel documents
- Date of Arrival and Departure: (If dates are not confirmed, then include anticipated duration of stay in Canada)
REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS
Cancellation Policy: Registration
- Full refunds will be provided if cancelled prior to 11:59 pm (PST), on May 5, 2025.
- No refunds will be offered after the deadline.
Cancellation Policy: On-Campus Housing
- Guests must provide a minimum 48 hours notice to cancel or modify their booking. Cancellations or modifications made with less than 48 hours notice will be subject to the first night accommodation fees being charged to the credit card provided.
- To cancel or modify a booking, please contact our Clients Accounts Associate at 778-782-6732 or email guest_services@sfu.ca. Cancellations and modifications cannot be made on the online booking system.
GENERAL INQUIRIES
Is there an option to participate in the conference remotely?
- No, this conference will be delivered in-person and will not be offered in a hybrid model. If you wish to become involved in a specific Working Group or the APRU SCL Hub in general, we encourage you to reach out to the Working Group leads or the to explore how you can be part of their activities and initiatives moving forward.
Will sessions be recorded or available online after the conference?
- No, the conference sessions will not be recorded.
