Acronyms:

  • INLP denotes 'Indigenous Languages Program' (as of Fall 2020; formerly FNLP.)
  • FNEP offers academic educational programs in Indigenous Communities
  • FASS - Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences where INLP resides.
  • CINLP - Certificate in Indigenous Language Proficiency (formerly CFNLP)
  • DINLP - Diploma in Indigenous Language Proficiency (formerly DFNLP)
  • INLL GC - Graduate Certificate in Indigenous Languages and Linguistics
  • INLL MA - Indigenous Languages and Linguistics (Masters of Art)
  • INLG - Indigenous Languages Instruction and Indigenous Language courses (as of Fall 2020; formerly FNLG)
  • LFNL GC - Graduate Certificate in the Linguistics of a First Nations Language (updated to INLL GC.)
  • LFNL MA - Linguistics of a First Nations Language (Masters of Art) (updated to INLL MA)
  • LING - Linguistics courses. (Also Department of Linguistics - the academic home department of FNLP.)

INLP/FNEP Cohorts - Enrollment/Course Fees/Sponsorships:

INLP (FNEP) Cohort Students:
Most cohort's will have their course enrollment processed by the ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV INLP Office.  (Some students will be able to self-enroll into their respective cohort section via SIS. Please check with the INLP Office if your cohort course enrollment will be processed by INLP.))

For assistance with enrollment, please contact the INLP Academic Advisor or INLP Program Assistant at inlp@sfu.ca.
Please email using your @sfu.ca email and include your ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Student ID number in your email.

Please make sure your student account is up-to-date or your pre-approved tuition sponsorship authorization is received by ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV by the time online enrollment opens to ensure eligibility to enroll into courses on your assigned enrollment date in sis.sfu.ca (go.sfu.ca).

Please email completed and sponsor-authorized (signed) forms to inlp@sfu.ca.

Student Accounts notificiations regarding for INLP-cohort courses:

Please contact the INLP Office (inlp@sfu.ca) for INLP-administered courses' fees calculation.  (Fees are subject to change.)

On occasion automated emails will be sent by ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Student Accounts or Student Collections which may NOT be APPLICABLE to INLP Cohort Groups, if you received such emails while you are attending a INLP/FNEP Cohort course,  please contact INLP Office (inlp@sfu.ca) directly to ask our office to review and confirm if the automated email you received do apply to your enrollment in a cohort term.

Students are responsible to review their enrollment and student account activities on a regular basis.
INLP/FNEP Cohort Students are responsible to contact their bandsponsors to complete the INLP Indigenous Student Sponsorship Authorization (form) and submit the completed and signed form to INLP.

¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Term Code

  • This four digit code denotes the century, year and academic term. (Spring-1, Summer-4, Fall-7).
  • The term "1244" means 21st Century, year 2024, and the last digit ‘4’ refers to the SUMMER term.
  • "1244" denotes the SUMMER 2024 Academic Term.
