Teaching Assistant Pay Rates:
· Salary per BU: $1242
· Associated scholarship per Base Unit (BU) - does not apply to the 0.17
o GTA1 (MSc): $190
o GTA2 (PhD): $420

MBB Teaching Assistantships – Summer 2025
Departmental guidelines for TAships are posted on the Human Resources – TSSU Job Postings Notice Board (). The online application is CLOSED. Applicants are expected to be available for the entire term of the contract which is May 07 – August 26, 2025. You will need your student number and will be asked to upload a PDF of your CV and transcripts. Graduate students please make sure to include both your undergraduate and graduate transcripts. Qualifications for TA positions in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry include a wide range of specializations and, in order to be appointed, a person must have sufficient knowledge in the discipline of the course to interpret the course material, as demonstrated by either having above average performance in an equivalent or related course from an undergraduate or graduate degree, or through graduate-level research in the subject area. Course instructors will receive a list of applicants interested in TAing their course and will have access to any CV or transcript you upload. Instructors will rank applicants based on their qualifications. Individual instructors may require an interview via telephone, email and/or in person in order to assess your qualifications. Note: If an MBB graduate student applies to TA they are considered to have applied to all available TA positions in MBB for the given term. If you only wish to be considered for particular courses, please state this in the comments section.
