SNF Centre for Hellenic Studies and SNF New Media Lab return from Athens
Even with the winter holidays right around the corner and visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads, the SNF Centre for Hellenic Studies and SNF New Media Lab were on the road promoting their work on Greek Language education in the Diaspora.
Earlier this month, the team was in Athens visiting partners, supporters, and members of the Greek government to promote the Rebooting the Greek Language project, a two-year project that is bringing together new mobile technology together with the latest advances in pedagogy generously supported by the .

There were excellent discussions about the expected impact of the project, not only outside of Greece, where the project has the potential to expand the use of the Greek Language in the Diaspora, but also in-country, where there are opportunities to deploy the technology to tourists and new arrivals.
Also while in Athens, there were meetings with partners and team members working on the project, including Dr. Eugenia Arvanitis from the University of Patras, who has been sharing her expertise on language pedagogy for adult learners.
Representatives of the Lab and Centre will be back in Athens during the new year to continue these important discussions. In the meantime, you can watch SNF Centre for Hellenic Studies Director, Dr. Dimitris Krallis speak to Greek media at the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) about the Rebooting the Greek Language project (in Greek).
The Rebooting the Greek Language project was made possibe by a significant grant from the .
