Help expand our understanding of Greece's history, language and culture
The SNF Centre for Hellenic Studies has since 2011, served as a focus for the study of Greece at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV and in the wider community. Your contributions support our students and researchers, fund our community outreach programs, and allow the SNF New Media Lab to develop innovative online and mobile tools for immersive, remote learning.
Support a specific innitiative
Established in 1996, through funds raised by the Hellenic community of Vancouver, the chair promotes research and teaching in Greek language, literature, history and culture in ancient, medieval and modern times. The current chair is Dr. Evan Freeman.
The professorship was created to attract and retain a scholar with demonstrated research excellence, while supporting the research and outreach mission of the SNF Centre for Hellenic Studies. Dr. Sabrina Higgins currently holds the professorship.
The professorship is named in honour of two long-time supporters of Hellenic Studies and is meant to to attract and retain an expert faculty member in international relations, while supporting the mandate of the Centre. Dr. James Horncastle currently holds the professorship.
André was a powerful force in the expansion of knowledge of Greek language, history and culture in the diaspora, working tirelessly to expand the study of Greece at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV. The memorial fund will serve as a tribute and long-standing reminder of André's impact at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV for generations to come.
