Brynn Bishop Selected for SNF Internship in Athens
Last month, we were pleased to send another exceptional undergraduate student from the SNF Centre for Hellenic Studies on a paid internship to the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, the world’s largest private philanthropic organization. Interns spend over two months at the foundation’s offices in Athens, getting hands-on experience in the SNF’s various program areas, including arts and culture, social welfare, education, and health and sports.
This year’s ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV intern is Brynn Bishop, an Archaeology Major with a keen interest in the world of philanthropy and the positive impact it can have in the areas of education, cultural heritage management, and social welfare. Brynn has been working in the Centre over the past year on a research project on the appearance of the Virgin Mary on Byzantine, Egyptian, and Greek sanctuaries. She has substantial international experience, having twice worked on European archaeological excavations and all of her instructors remarked on her excellent academic record. Brynn is looking forward to bringing back the skills she learns on the internship and apply them on a smaller in her own community, where she already has an extensive track-record of volunteering.
It’s a privilege to work alongside such an influential non-profit organization which recognizes the importance of education, cultural heritage management, and social welfare.

The SNF Centre for Hellenic Studies at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV has been fortunate to be able to send four exceptional students over the past number of years to Athens. Every year the Stavros Niarchos Foundation invites applications for paid internships at their offices in Athens, New York, and Monte Carlo. In addition to the stipend provided by the SNF, support is also provided by the Office of Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences to defray travel costs.
