Criminology

Master's (MA) 

November 18 (Mon), 11:00am PT, Online (Zoom)

Students in the MA program in Criminology complete coursework and conduct original research leading to the defence of a thesis. Many of our students continue on to a PhD program or pursue a career in research, policy analysis, or teaching.

Economics

Master's (MA) 

November 6 (Wed), 4:30 – 6:00pm, Online (Zoom)

The ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Economics MA program provides training in a wide range of theoretical, empirical, and policy-relevant fields. It is designed to prepare students for a career in the public or the private sector, or to pursue further studies in a PhD program. Check out our alumni profiles to get a sense of where our students end up.

English

Master's (MA) & Doctoral (PhD)

December 2 (Mon), 2:30 - 3:30PM, Online (Zoom)

The English MA program

  • Complete in 3-6 terms (1-2 years)
  • Flexible study options, including coursework, research, digital-humanities, or creative projects and a Print Culture Certificate 
  • Prepare for careers in teaching, writing, editing, publishing, and for application to and research in doctoral programs

The ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV English PhD program:

  • Complete in 12-18 terms (4-6 years); part-time enrolment available 
  • Research-focused, tailored to individual interests 
  • Teaching and research assistantships available for professional development

Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies

Master's (MA) - Course Intensive

November 14 (Thur), 6:30 - 7:30pm, Online (Zoom)

The Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies MA program provides a strong academic approach, with core courses on feminist theory and methodology and a blend of advanced studies in specific fields, as well as directed readings for more individualized study. Students develop and demonstrate intellectual and analytical skills, in accordance with the particular criteria of the level of study.

Global Humanities

Master's (MA)

November 20 (Wed), 11:00am PT, Online (Zoom)

Our Global Humanities MA program focuses on students who wish to pursue specific and advanced cross-disciplinary, text-based research projects. The program allows students to specialize in the context of a strong grounding in the humanistic tradition from the ancient world to the modern period in different cultures.

  • Research-based program designed to prepare students for additional studies.

Graduate Liberal Studies

Master's (MA) 

November 14 (Thur), 6:00pm, Online (Zoom)

Our MA in Graduate Liberal Studies (GLS) program is designed for working students to explore and engage with the ideas and values that shape our culture. The only program of its kind in Canada, GLS is both flexible and diverse. Students become part of our 30-year community of inquiry through small, conversation-based seminars led by ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV professors. With our new online stream, students learn primarily from home and may live anywhere while attending grad school at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV.

  • Flexible live-Zoom and in-person seminars (learn from home or at Harbour Centre)
  • A community of fellow adult learners during your degree and a strong alumni community upon completion
  • Opportunity for travel-study to Italy, Spain, and Oxford in the UK

International Studies

The MA in International Studies prepares students to meaningfully influence knowledge, policy, and action in Canada and around the world.

Public Policy

Master's (MPP) 

November 8 (Fri), 12:00pm - 1:00pm PT, Online (Zoom)

The Master of Public Policy (MPP) program is designed to equip students with the skills and expertise to lead in government, the private sector, and non-profit organizations. Through co-op placements and partnerships with external agencies, students gain valuable professional experience and networks alongside their academic training.

This info session will discuss the fundamentals of public policy, program details, career opportunities, and the application process. You’ll also hear first hand from current students about their experiences in the program. The session will conclude with a live Q&A to address all your questions.

Urban Studies

Master's (MURB) & Graduate Diploma

November 6 (Wed), 5:30 - 6:30pm PT, Online (Zoom)

The Graduate Diploma in Urban Studies and the Master of Urban Studies prepare students to address the complex challenges facing cities today. They are great options for working professionals looking to expand their knowledge and career horizons. We welcome applications from prospective students with a wide variety of academic and professional backgrounds.
