FASS researchers awarded NSERC Discovery Grants and Canada Research Chair renewal

Congratulations to Psychology professor John McDonald who was recently renewed as a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Cognitive Neuroscience. He along with Linguistics associate professor Henny Yeung and Psychology adjunct faculty  were also announced as successful recipients of the  Discovery Grants program.

A highly presitigous award, the Canada Research Chair title is awarded to world-class researchers undertaking academic research and training excellence in Canadian post-secondary institutions. The Discovery Grants program is NSERC's largest and longest-standing program, providing researchers the flexibility to explore the most promising avenues of research as they emerge.

(Renewed) Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Cognitive Neuroscience

McDonald's research studies how people attentively process their environments and cope with distractions. His research findings could shed light on brain disorders affecting attentional capabilities, namely attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and degenerative diseases.
