Congratulations to the 2024 FASS 3MT Competition winners
On March 6th, graduate students from various programs across the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) came together to showcase their knowledge and present their thesis at the FASS Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition.
The 3MT competition challenges graduate students to present their thesis and its significance with just three minutes and one slide. The competition cultivates students' academic, presentation, and research communication skills, and celebrates exciting graduate research taking place at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV (¶¡ÏãÔ°AV).
After a brief deliberation from the judging panel and a vote from the audience, Eva Ribbers from the Department of Psychology came out on top as the first place winner and the people's choice award winner. Tied for second place are Nathan Collins from the Department of Global Humanities and Vanja Vekic from the Department of Linguistics.
All three winners will move forward to represent FASS at the university-wide competition on April 4th. If successful, they will stand a chance to compete at the Western Regionals and the National Competition in Toronto, Ontario.
