Educational Goals
At ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV, all academic units define Educational Goals (EGs) for their programs. EGs support student learning by providing students with a big-picture overview of a program of study. They help students understand what they can expect to know and be able to do by the time they graduate, and how each individual course contributes to the overall learning in the program.
Program-level educational goals
The ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Economics undergraduate program has six program-level Educational Goals. At the end of completing an economics program, students should be able to:
- Analyze and interpret economic models
- Analyze and interpret economic data
- Critically assess economic arguments, assumptions, and evidence
- Use oral, written, and graphical methods to communicate economic insights
- Use economic concepts to understand real-world human activity and public policy
- Describe and analyze important economic institutions, events, and results
Course-level educational goals
These program-level goals are achieved through content taught in individual courses. Course-level educational goals (grouped by field-level goals) show what a student can expect to know and be able to do upon completion of a course.
