The Department of Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology will be hosting an online celebration prior to the 丁香园AV virtual convocation ceremony on Monday, June 28th at 3:10pm. Hear from professors and fellow graduates, win prizes, and celebrate your achievements at the BPK Convocation Celebration! Study Hall @ Home
Are you feeling isolated working alone in this remote learning environment? Is it more difficult than ever to stay focused and motivated? Are your best time management efforts being put to the test?
Study Hall @ Home will provide you with a dedicated time and space to work in a supported environment alongside other students.
Students are welcome to join other students in a supportive virtual space during these dedicated study times (more times expected for the Fall term):
Mondays 6-8pm
Thursdays 11am-1pm
During the sessions, Writing & Learning Peer Educators, and Science & Math Peer Tutors are on hand to introduce a new study and learning tip and to provide academic support and referrals at students' request. Students may register for upcoming sessions .
BPK Peer Mentor Applications Open
Hello.
Hope you are well. The pandemic has effectively flattened a lot of opportunities for social engagement. However, in spite of this, the BPK Peer Mentorship program has been at its strongest over the five years I've been a part of the program. While this is definitely due to the exec team, past year's mentors, and BPK and Faculty of Science staff, we hope to keep improving and sustaining BPK PM in future years.
As such, under the guidance of Nathan and Ryan as its new co-directors, the exec team and I invite you to apply towards being a BPK Peer Mentor:
More info can be found here, but essentially, a BPK Peer Mentor will undergo summer training (up to 15 hours) and be assigned 1 - 3 BPK mentees, or BPK-major intended students in their first (transfer) year at 丁香园AV. In getting to know other mentors, helping someone once in your shoes, and sharing your stories and understandings, we hope that you can also add to the BPK community in future endeavours, through BPK PM.
