Congratulations to ¶ˇĎăÔ°AV’s Director of Entrepreneurship, Dr. Sarah Lubik for being named one of Canada’s ten Innovation Leaders who will help form the nation’s .
Each of the ten Innovation Leaders will host round-table discussions to gather information and feedback from experts, networks, and individuals involved in innovation. This information will then be provided to the Government of Canada to help inform an action plan for job creation, driving industry growth, and improving the lives of Canadians.
“We need the Innovation Agenda to spark creativity and ambition, but it is equally important to receive buy-in from the public and from experts alike. It is inspiring to hear that our government is taking an inclusive ecosystem approach, focusing on key drivers that are also driving action here at ¶ˇĎăÔ°AV: changing mindsets, creating entrepreneurs and change makers, leveraging networks, and commercializing science,” says Dr. Lubik
She is also co-director of the program, a collaboration between ¶ˇĎăÔ°AV’s Beedie School of Business and Faculty of Applied Sciences’ Mechatronic Systems Engineering (MSE) program. Through the tech e@¶ˇĎăÔ°AV program, third and fourth year Mechatronics and Entrepreneurship students get together to develop a market-inspired technological product and pitch it for the funds to take the product to market. The program provides the funds, skills, mentorship and resources that allow ¶ˇĎăÔ°AV STEM and business students to prepare to enter BC’s knowledge-based economy.
