Science Odyssey: Ten Days of Discovery and Innovation!

is facilitating 10-days of science-based events across Canada from Friday May 6th to Sunday May 15th, 2016. is a collaborative event aimed to engage, inspire and celebrate Canadians of all ages interested in or already involved with science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.

Science Odyssey evolved from the National Science and Technology Week (NSTW). The new 10-day event aims to create public awareness of Canadian achievements in STEM, engage Canadian kids through fun activities and make science accessible by opening doors and communication channels to science organizations and STEM professionals.

Science Odyssey Events in British Columbia:

¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Science Rendezvous and International Astronomy Day  (Burnaby - Saturday, May 7, 2016: 11:00AM to 3:00PM): This family-friendly event at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV (¶¡ÏãÔ°AV) will allow participants to explore dozens of hands-on science activities and laboratory experiments. Activities and shows will focus on the scientific concepts behind flight. 

Don't miss out on the Amazing Science Chase, which takes place during Science Rendezvous. This Amazing Race-style science challenge will test your mind and body!

Free admission to all shows, activities, talks and tours as well as free parking offered in Lot B. The event is open to participants of all ages, with a focus on kids. for registration.

 (Langley - Saturday, May 7, 2016: 11:00AM to 4:00PM): Visit Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) to participate in hands-on activates and laboratory experiments, walk through real science labs, watch a demonstration of the high-tech patient simulators in the nursing labs and take a tour of KPU’s new brewing lab.

 (Vancouver - May 5-7, 2016)
Vancouver Aquarium, Science World and the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre host are hosting this annual conference. Attendees will get the chance to network and exchange ideas with over one hundred science professionals. Sign up for the  to get the latest news on the 2016 Conference.

There is also a  (Vancouver - May 5, 2016) on Developing Professional Development: Engaging Teachers Without Their Students. This session is for formal and informal educators alike, and will be hosted at TELUS World of Science. Registration is only $30 including lunch and space is limited!

 (Vancouver - Saturday, May 14, 2016: 9:00AM to 1:30PM): eng•cite is providing this event for girls to participate in hands-on activities and projects to earn their Girl Guide Science & Technology: Engineering Badge.

This event is not limited to active Girl Guides and all girls in grade 5-7 are welcome. Registration is first come, first served. Visit West Coast Area Program’s  for details on how to register.

e: (Online/Vancouver - May 6-15): Science World is participating in Science Odyssey by unlocking a free online scientist interview and/or science activity you can try at home every day during the 10-days of Science Odyssey. Check out to see what fun activities they will unveil!

There will also be events held at TELUS World of Science. On May 12th Science World will be hosting Chemistry Pop-up activities and on May 15th they are holding a Robotics Showdown. Check out Science World’s to learn more.
