Plans are still being confirmed for this year, but they will include:
-Changemaker Showcase: Performances and panels with student and community artists who are inspiring social change
-UBC Equality March: Led by the UBC Thunderbird Band
-Craftivisim: A pop-up activist art making workshop and artist sale
Venues include the Museum of Anthropology, UBC Life Building, and more to be announced!

International Women's Day is March 8 and this year is "Each for Equalâ. The big question they are asking this year is âhow will you forge a gender-equal world?â They are challenging us to celebrate womenâs achievement, raise awareness against bias, and take action for equality. Check out some of the check out some of the local events for IWD below:
In Plain Sight - March 2 - April 17
"In Plain Sight" is a photojournalistic look at the lives and careers of women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields, where they are often overlooked. Women are underrepresented in these fields and are rarely seen in the media as STEM professionals. ¶ĄÏăÔ°AVâs WWEST program has developed this exhibition to further its mission to engage industry, the community and students to increase the awareness and participation of women and other under-represented groups in STEM fields of study and careers.

Join Bridges for Women Society for the 10th annual International Womenâs Day luncheon for an inspiring gathering in Victoria BC, with keynote speakers, networking opportunities, a delicious lunch, and solidarity for womenâs empowerment.
Their keynote speakers are powerful women whose work explores the role of art and creativity in nurturing personal growth, revitalizing culture, and building community:
-Frazey Ford, Vancouver-based singer-songwriter and actor
-Lindsay Delaronde, Victoria's inaugural Indigenous Artist in Residence and practicing professional artist
-Dr. Darlene Clover, University of Victoria professor whose research focuses on arts, women's political education, and social activism
-Tiffany Joseph, Bridges graduate and storyteller engaged in W̱SĂNEÄ cultural and ecological revitalization
-Diane Gilliland, former Bridges counsellor and member of the Victoria Storytellers Guild

Women and girls in developing countries walk an average of 6 km every day to collect clean water. By walking in their shoes, you can raise funds to help provide water closer to home, meaning girls can go to school and women can earn an income instead of walking hours a day to collect water.
Join CAREâs Walk In Her Shoes campaign, walk up to 10,000 steps in solidarity with women and girls around the world, and the funds you raise will help fight poverty and social injustice.

Wonder Woman Networking Event - March 9
The Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology (SCWIST) and Science World are proud to present the annual Wonder Women Networking Evening. Participants meet amazing women with careers in science and engineering and learn more about their pathways. This event will be held under the geodesic dome and is a joint venture between Science World and SCWIST.
