Elders Program

The ISC recognizes the value and importance of Elders and Knowledge Keepers within communities. ISC Elders are from diverse backgrounds, hold distinct traditional knowledge, and are available to provide students guidance and support.

Students can stay connected with the ISC Elders through weekly Elder Program Drop-ins. ISC Elders also connect with the ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV community by supporting university events and initiatives.

Tea Talks with Elder Marie

Drop-ins are available for Indigenous students, staff and faculty, Mondays from 1:30m - 2:30pm with Elder Marie in AQ 3144.

Drop-in Drumming with Russell Wallace

Join Russell once a month on Fridays from 2pm-4pm in AQ 3144 for an opportunity to drum or have a casual conversation. Food and drums will be provided, and we hope to see you there.

Tea & Art with Auntie Patti

Drop-ins are available for Indigenous students Wednesdays alternating between Burnaby and Surrey Campus. Burnaby drop-ins are in AQ 2002 from 1:30pm-3:30pm. Surrey drop-ins are in SRYC 5300 from 12:00pm-2:00pm. Working on a artistic project? Bring it with you and maybe she can help!
