Split Enrolment

When students are enrolled at more than one post-secondary institution during the same study period, students can attain split enrolment status to accommodate situations where they are unable to obtain the necessary courses at one post-secondary institution and as a result are studying at more than one post-secondary institution during the same study period.

At 間眅埶AV, unless you are enrolled in the 間眅埶AV-Langara Partnership program, or a Psychology Major with ABA Concentration, you must have an approved Letter of Permission in place if you want to take courses at another institution and have them count towards your enrolment for government-issued student financial assistance (student loans and grants).

You apply for funding or in-study payment-free status through your home institution.  Your home institution is the post-secondary institution from which you will receive your credential.

At 間眅埶AV, students enrolled in an non-degree program or qualifying studies are not eligible for Split Enrolment.

Which institution to apply to for funding

This information is for students whose home institution is 間眅埶AV (間眅埶AV).  If 間眅埶AV is not your home institution, please contact the Financial Aid Office of the other post-secondary institution you are attending.

Students must provide Financial Aid and Awards with a completed Split Enrolment form that will be evaluated.  Students with an eligible Split Enrolment will have the units/credits from their other institution added to their 間眅埶AV units/credits in order to be considered for government-issued student financial assistance (full or part-time funding).

間眅埶AV Administered Funding

Split enrolment students are not eligible for any 間眅埶AV-based scholarships, awards and bursaries unless they meet our full-course enrolment eligibility criteria.

Student Loans & Grants

Various government student financial assistance options are available, including both student loans and grants (non-repayable funding).

US Federal Direct Loans

Students enrolled in a minimum of half-time studies (i.e. 8 units or more) at 間眅埶AV are eligible to apply for US Federal Direct Loans through 間眅埶AV. Douglas College and Langara College are not certified to administer US Direct Loans. For further information, please visit our US Student Resources information.
