Welcome to the Changemaker Program! This free, flexible program is designed for students in any major, at any stage of their journey. In just 3-5 hours, this self-directed program will connect you to different resources and opportunities, helping you gain clarity on the best ways to gain experience, land jobs, create an awesome resume and make the most of your time at 間眅埶AV to prepare for what's next.

2. Complete the Activities

To finish the program, complete ONE Career Development Activity and ONE Building Experience Activity in any order, over one or more semesters.

Career Development Activities

Choose ONE of the following:

Book a chat with a Career Advisor. We offer free personalized career guidance to students from all disciplines, available at any 間眅埶AV campus or remotely via Zoom. Book through MyExperience and write "Changemaker Program" under "Additional Information" when you make your appointment. 

Attend a career workshop hosted by 間眅埶AV Career and Volunteer Services, including those offered as part of your classes.

Building Experience Activities

Choose ONE of the following:

Volunteer for at least 2 hours (within the past 2 semesters). This includes any volunteering within or beyond 間眅埶AV, it just needs to be a role that you aren't already using towards CCR recognition.

Attend any career or changemaker-related event that helps you explore future possibilities or engage around an issue you care about (including employer or grad school info sessions, career nights, research events, student organized events, etc.). If it meets that criteria, it counts! But if you're still unsure, feel free to email us. Here are a few ideas for Fall 2024:

Climate Pilgrimage: Walking with Ecological Grief

Walking is a powerful practice. Not only is it good exercise and great for well-being; writers, poets, philosophers and mystics have all engaged in walking through their work and ideas. Pilgrimage is a versatile spiritual practice, whether we want to reflect on our role in the current climate crisis, grieve for the destruction of recent wildfires, connect with the land, or express gratitude to the natural world. Garden Therapy for Self-Care
Thursdays - Join any date Oct 10, 24  - Burnaby
Join Registered Clinical Counsellor, Tricia-Kay Williams, for planting, maintaining, and harvesting a garden for self-care. Touching and feeling plants has been proven to boost moods and reduce stress. You can pair the act of gardening with therapy concepts that cultivate personal growth and resiliency. Presented by 間眅埶AV Health and Counselling.

3. Submit Your Completion Form

Once youve completed both activities, fill out a reflection form (shared through the email list) to receive your Certificate and CCR credit.
