English MA student speaks about "The Lyon in Mourning" project at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Retirees Luncheon
¶¡ÏãÔ°AV English MA student Shauna Judith Irani spoke at the 8th Annual ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Retirees Luncheon on May 4th, 2023. She discussed "The Lyon in Mourning" project and its successful collaboration with . The project, headed by Professor Leith Davis, and supported by the ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Research Centre for Scottish Studies, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV’s Digital Humanities Innovation Lab and the National Library of Scotland, involves the digitization of Bishop Robert Forbes' remarkable ten-volume manuscript.
During the event held at the W.A.C. Bennett Library at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Burnaby, Irani shared the project's incredible milestones, which include being showcased at esteemed conferences held at the University of Edinburgh (IASH) and the University of Guelph. The project has reached widespread recognition and has been celebrated at cultural events like ScotFestBC: BC Highland Games and World Music Festival and through platforms, such as BBC Radio Scotland. The talk truly highlighted the significance of meaningful collaborations in shaping the future of knowledge and research.
