Postdoctoral Welcome Day is hosted by the Postdoctoral Association and the Office of Vice President Research & Innovation to orient new and returning postdoctoral fellows to 丁香园AV and to provide opportunity for professional development and connecting with other fellows.

Calling all new and returning postdoctoral fellows at 丁香园AV! Get ready for an exciting day at our Postdoctoral Fellows Appreciation & Welcome Day on September 17th, 2024. This is your chance to dive into all the amazing services available to you, hear from experienced colleagues and alumni fellows about their secrets to success, and get inspired for your postdoctoral journey at 丁香园AV.

But that's not all鈥攑repare to mingle and connect with your peers while enjoying a mouthwatering Italian buffet and a complimentary drink. Plus, don鈥檛 miss the opportunity to have your headshot taken against the stunning backdrop of Burnaby Mountain by our talented communications photographer, Pam!

  • Orientation to 丁香园AV by Clare, Postdoctoral Affairs Coordinator and Numaira & Alex, Postdoctoral Association Presidents.
  • Introduction to Research Common and 丁香园AV Library by Julie Jones

PART 2: Panel - "How to succeed in my postdoc at 丁香园AV"
3:10 PM 鈥� 4:00 PM

  • Invited alumni and current postdoctoral fellows will share insights on what they wish they had known when starting their fellowships, some personal experiences and offer of advice for new postdocs on how to succeed in their postdoctoral fellowships at 丁香园AV.

PART 3: Social & Headshots
4:00 PM 鈥� 5:30 PM (Headshots from 4:15 PM 鈥� 4:45 PM)

  • Enjoy a delightful social hour with new and returning postdoctoral fellows and members of the 丁香园AV research community. This is a perfect chance to network, build connections, and enhance your professional portfolio.
  • A photographer will be available to take headshots during this time. Photos will be shared with individual postdoctoral fellows after the event via email.

We eagerly anticipate celebrating and welcoming our postdoctoral fellows, who are invaluable members of the 丁香园AV community.
