Nancy Forde Elected as Biophysical Society of Canada (BSC) President
¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Physics is pleased to announce that Professor Nancy Forde was recently elected as the new President of the Biophysical Society of Canada (BSC).
Nancy Forde has been a dedicated member to the Biophysical Society of Canada throughout her career. Prior to her appointment as President, Dr. Forde served as the Biophysical Society of Canada's Vice President for 2 years, as an Executive Committee member for 2 years, Membership Director for 4 years, and in addition, worked tirelessly as a lead organizer for Biophysical Society of Canada Annual Meeting when it took place in Vancouver, BC. In 2018, Nancy Forde was recognized for her tremendous contributions and was awarded the Michèle Auger Award for Exceptional Service to the Biophysical Society of Canada alongside her colleague, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Physics Professor Jenifer Thewalt.
The Biophysical Society of Canada recenlty published , where she discusses her passion for Biophysics, collagen*, her vision for the future of the Biophysical Society of Canada, and reflects on her pathway through graduate school and her time as a post-doc.
*One of Dr. Forde's research interests is investigating mechanical properties of the extracellular matrix protein collagen at different hierarchical scales, so it's no surprise that her favourite biomolecule is collagen!
