We provide the following schedules to help you with your course planning.  These schedules avoid common conflicts and demonstrate how one can complete their degree program in four years by taking a full load of courses in Fall and Spring terms each year.  If you take Fall term classes you can reduce the average number of units taken each term.  Be sure to check Fall term course offerings carefully to avoid disappointment.  Click on your program below for a pdf with your suggested schedule for Fall 2024 requirement term (1241).

If you are using MySchedule, login in to MySchedule from go.sfu.ca and then use these links below to get you started.  By default the classes come up "pinned" (ie. with particular lab and tutorial sections chosen).  You might find that it helps to "unpin" your classes before adding any additional courses to your schedule or to view the possible combinations of labs and tutorials that are available to you.  Some courses may appear unselected.  This could be because the suggested schedule has a choice of courses, but could also be because the course was not open when the MySchedule link was created.  The schedules provided correspond to the current set of program requirements.  Please check to see if your program requirements are different.

Physics has adopted a standard schedule for all of our courses.  We are hoping that by taking this step we鈥檒l be able to avoid most course conflicts and ultimately enable you to graduate in as few as four years.  We encourage our students to use these schedules to avoid conflicts as we cannot satisfy all requests for accommodation for conflicts created by ignoring these schedules.  We have managed to avoid almost all conflicts with these suggested schedules.  Unfortunately for fall term known conflicts are CHEM 236 and PHYS 326, and MATH 260 conflicts with CHEM 281.

To help you plan your courses, we have created flow charts showing the requisite structure for all of our programs.  These documents will help you determine which courses have more flexibility in your degree and which need to be taken early to avoid delaying your graduation.
