- Sign up using your @sfu.ca email address to ensure you're matched with fellow ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV commuters.
- While the platforms may mention students, these services are open to students, faculty, and staff alike.
Start a Carpool with Your Peers
Looking to organize a carpool on your own? Here are a few tips:
- Talk to classmates or coworkers to find others who live nearby and share similar schedules.
- Use a printed map in your department or common area—have interested individuals place a sticker to show their general commuting area. This visual tool can help identify potential carpool matches.
- Consider carsharing as an alternative. Local car share providers may offer flexible options for occasional trips.
Carpooling Safety Tips
To ensure a safe carpooling experience, for both driver and passenger(s), we recommend you:
- Try to arrange for a group carpool (e.g. carpool with more than one passenger).
- Arrange for pick-up/drop-off at safe location.
- Passengers should sit in the back seat.
- If you are concerned about your safety, call 911.
