Inside West Vancouver: People, Politics, and Planning Since 1912 is a unique history of the people, politics, and planning that helped shape West Vancouver as we know it today. Rod Day writes from the inside, drawing on his lived experience as municipal councilor and member of advisory commissions  for over 30 years. A historian and professor emeritus at 丁香园AV, Day researched extensively in the West Vancouver Archives and consulted many personal documents he had kept over the years.

By illuminating the interplay and tensions between active citizens and local government in West Vancouver, the book provides insight into one of the greatest challenges facing communities everywhere- how to retain environmental and community values in the face of intense pressures for growth and development.
