Community Capacity Building Certificate
This program is offered in collaboration with community organizations and funding partners. Please contact learn@sfu.ca if you’d like to discuss.
We are looking for community leaders of all sorts: you may be a quiet supporter, always there to move everyone forward. You might be inspiring and charismatic—or seeking your own inspiration. You might even be wondering if change is possible at all.
Through the Community Capacity Building Certificate, we’ll learn together as we build deeper relationships with ourselves, our communities and the land, discover new tools, and plan and implement real projects that will have a positive impact in our communities.
Why this program?
- Learn in creative and art-based ways, with the support of a class Elder
- Become a more effective leader by learning the theory and practice of community-engaged work
- Plan and implement a project that will serve your community
- Get community experience that you can put into practice and demonstrate in a résumé, portfolio or school application
