Biography

Xelliece is a Non-Practicing Kinesiologist. She graduated from ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV, with a Bachelor of Science, a Major in Kinesiology and a certificate in both Health/Fitness and Active Rehabilitation. She is certified in Functional Movement Screen (Level 1), Soft Tissue Release techniques (Level 1), and Personal Training/Group Instructing.

She has worked in both community and private multidisciplinary clinics, in neurological rehabilitation for adults and pediatric clients, and in a back specialist clinic.

Xelliece used to work as Return to Work Kinesiologist, Pre-employment assessor, Personal Trainer, and an Active Rehabilitation Therapist. She has particular interest in prescribing strengthening, flexibility, and mobility exercises for all different types of injuries and muscle groups.

QUESTIONS

1) What is your current position? What does a typical work day look like for you?   

Disability Management Client Partner at Fraser Health.

I manage employees cases that are off on a medical absence. I am their primary contact when they are off work. I assist them with getting connected to appropriate services that their treatment providers recommend.

2) How did your education in BPK influence your career?

Immensely! The resources available through BPK helped me understand the variety of professions available for after you’re done school.

3) Who in BPK had an impact on you and why?

Darleen Bemister because she’s helped me understand how to set up my resume for after school. Which has helped me assist others adjust their resume as well.

4) What is your favourite memory of your time at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV as an undergraduate?

Meeting amazing people!

5) What advice would you give to today’s BPK student? 

Ask a lot of questions and take advantage of every opportunity throughout your degree!
