Yabome Gilpin-Jackson
Vice-President, People, Equity and Inclusion

Dr. Yabome Gilpin-Jackson is a trusted partner for leaders and professionals working to develop people and build organizational capacity for change. She is an applied social scientist and an experienced professional with proven expertise in the areas of leadership development, organizational development, facilitating strategic change and systematic organizing for social change and transformation.

Christina Medland
Executive Director, People and Organization Development 

With a career that spans 30 years in the public and not-for-profit sectors, Christina Medland aims to bring the best out of employees and develop effective leaders, growing people and organizational potential. She oversees Strategic Business Partner Services, People Development, Employee Wellness and Organization Development and Change.

Chris Hatty
Executive Director, Human Resources and Labour Relations

Equipped with than 20 years of experience in labour relations, Chris Hatty brings key insights and a keen understanding of employee relations. He oversees Human Resources, Labour Relations, Compensation, Pension and Benefits, Recognition, Research Personnel and Human Resources Information Systems.

Catherine Stoddard 
Executive Director, Faculty Relations

With over 20 years of broad experience in leadership roles across ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV, Catherine brings a deep understanding of the faculty experience and works to ensure the institution collaborates effectively with partners to support faculty at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV. Catherine leads collective agreement and labour relations negotiations for faculty and also leads the faculty relations team, which provides support to academic leaders at all stages of their career at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV.

Reporting into the Provost and VP Academic, Catherine has a dotted line reporting relationship to Yabome Gilpin-Jackson, as the VPPEI portfolio supports shared services for faculty such as benefits administration and immigration support. VPPEI supports faculty in collaboration with Faculty Relations around equity programs and faculty employment experience.

Paola Ardiles Gamboa
Senior Advisor to the Vice-President, People, Equity and Inclusion (Equity and Well-Being Initiatives)

Dr. Paola Ardiles Gamboa (she/hers) has been recognized widely for her community engaged teaching and research at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV, which uses equity centred approaches to foster community health and wellbeing. She is a trusted peer-mentor and community builder with a wealth of experience in developing partnerships and facilitating dialogue to advance equity and inclusion. She has led and collaborated extensively on social innovations in public health with Fraser Health Authority, the City of Surrey and other municipalities, as well as various local and provincial non-for-profit organizations.
