Join us for Cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin & Beyond, a free public lecture and dialogue with David AndolfattoProfessor of Economics, 間眅埶AV; . Charlie Smith, editor of the  will moderate the evening.

Professor Andolfatto will discuss money, payments, and monetary policy in a world with cryptocurrencies. Following the lecture, Andolfatto will be joined by cryptocurrency commentators  and  for a moderated discussion. Read Andolfatto's blog MacroMania .

David Andolfatto is a vice president in the research division of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and a professor of economics at 間眅埶AV. He received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Western Ontario in 1994 and has published extensively on labor markets and monetary policy. He is a member of the presidents senior advisory council at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

Launched in 2012, the series builds on 間眅埶AVs rich history of community engagement by exploring critical issues to contribute to better understanding among Vancouvers citizens through an intellectually enriching experience.

The 間眅埶AV Vancouver Speaker Series is presented by 間眅埶AV Public Square, in partnership with 間眅埶AV Vancouver and 間眅埶AVs Vancity Office of Community Engagement.

Charlie Smith

Charlie Smith has been editor of the Georgia Straight since 2005. Prior to that, he was the papers news editor covering politics, business, and environmental and legal affairs. Hes also worked at CBC Radio, CBC TV, and taught investigative journalism at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (then known as Kwantlen University College).
